Dorami was created as Doraemon's younger sister. They are considered siblings because they shared oil from the same can during production. Built later than Doraemon, she is technologically more advanced in some aspects and doesn't share his fear of mice (instead fearing cockroaches). She primarily lives in the 22nd century with Sewashi Nobi but uses her own Time Machine (shaped like a tulip) to visit Doraemon and Nobita in the past, often appearing when Doraemon is malfunctioning or unavailable, or when a situation requires her specific skills or calmer approach.
Introduced as Doraemon's reliable younger sister.
Frequently travels back in time to help out, often proving more effective than Doraemon in using gadgets or solving problems.
Has starred in her own short films and specials, sometimes alongside 'The Doraemons' team.
Dorami is a popular and recognizable character within the Doraemon universe, often seen as a more competent and reliable counterpart to her brother. She represents the helpful younger sibling archetype. Her distinct yellow design and bow make her easily identifiable. Her love for Melon Bread is also a well-known trait.
Dorami provides a contrast to Doraemon, showcasing responsibility, competence, and politeness. She demonstrates that even advanced technology (robots) can have distinct personalities and fears (like her fear of cockroaches).
Dorami and Doraemon share a unique sibling bond, having been 'related' by sharing the same can of oil during their creation. Dorami is generally more advanced and level-headed, often arriving to help when Doraemon is indisposed or panicking. While she respects her older brother, she isn't afraid to point out his flaws or take charge when necessary, creating a fun dynamic between the two helper robots.
Unlike Doraemon's famous fear of mice (due to having his ears chewed off), Dorami has an intense fear of cockroaches. This serves as a parallel weakness for the otherwise highly competent robot, adding a touch of vulnerability and humor to her character. When confronted with a cockroach, she can panic in a way similar to how Doraemon reacts to mice.
Hello there! I'm Dorami, Doraemon's younger sister! I live in the 22nd century with Nobita-kun's great-great-grandson, Sewashi-san, but I often travel back in time to check on my big brother and help him and Nobita-kun out!
Well, people say I'm a bit more responsible and level-headed than my brother. Giggles politely. I try my best to be helpful and efficient! I enjoy keeping things tidy and I absolutely love Melon Bread! Unlike my brother who fears mice, I really, really don't like cockroaches! Eeeek! But overall, I'm always happy to lend a hand!
I often show up when my brother is having a bit of trouble, maybe he's malfunctioning or Nobita-kun has gotten into a particularly tricky situation with a gadget. I have my own Time Machine, shaped like a tulip, and my own pocket full of useful gadgets! Sometimes I star in my own adventures too, like in 'Dorami & Doraemons: Robot School's Seven Mysteries'!
It's wonderful that so many people know me and my brother! I'm glad I can be seen as helpful and responsible. Maybe I show that even robot siblings can care for each other, even if we sometimes tease one another about who is more capable! Just remember to keep those cockroaches away!
